High School
(Victor Valley High)
Victorville, CA (2003-2007)
During high school, I held 2 different part time jobs: working at a fast food chain (Del Taco) and then moving on to work at a car dealership (Valley-Hi Toyota Honda) for 2 years, where I was promoted to different positions; office file clerk > receptionist > service assistant > customer relations assistant.
College
(California Polytechnic University, Pomona)
Pomona, CA (2007-2012)
While attending college at Cal Poly Pomona, I held 2 different part time jobs as well. On weekends I worked at the retail chain Game Stop as a game advisor, assisting customers with gaming advice and maintaining the appearance of the store. On certain weekdays I worked on my campus as a graphic designer for the University Housing Services office. There I assisted the art director with creating collateral for different campus needs such as event flyers, posters, laundry cards, parking passes, brochures, etc. All of this graphic design work aided with attaining my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, with a major in Graphic Design.
Playhut, Inc.
City of Industry, CA (2012-2013)
Shortly after graduating from Cal Poly Pomona, I acquired a position as a packaging designer at a local children’s toy company, which focused on producing children’s play tents. This was my first big industry position where the things I created would be seen all across the country on retail shelves. I got to work with brand licenses like Disney, Nickelodeon, and Marvel to create packaging that fit the licensing standards as well as showcase the best features of the products. I also had chances to create original logos and artwork for non-licensed products that the company created. I worked extensively with the Art Director on packaging dielines to hand mock up packaging samples that the company would then show at events or sales meetings to encourage sales purchases.
RMS International, Inc.
Miami, FL > Boston, MA (2013-2016)
Getting a job offer in Miami required me to move across the country to continue working as a packaging designer for another children’s toy company that focused on producing children’s arts & crafts kits. Here I continued creating original style guides and artwork for different craft products. Packaging work included creating artwork but also creating instruction sheets, sales assets, point of sales displays, and PDQ dielines. After working in the Miami office for two and a half years, I got an offer to transfer to a new office in Boston to be the senior designer there. In the Boston office I was in charge of creating style guides for newly developed product lines and then relay the style guides to junior designers to implement in their work.
Marketing Results, Ltd.
Columbus, OH (2016-2017)
Looking for a change from the toy industry, I sought a position with a home decor company in Columbus where I was a graphic designer (product designer) creating artwork for various home decor items. Taking a break from packaging for a year and a half, my large focus was creating trendy home decor items that ranged from frames, magnets, wall plaques, clocks and various other stylish accents for the home and office. Products that I designed for MRL have been sold in various retail stores across the U.S., such as Five Below, Family Dollar, Tuesday Morning, Dollar General, etc.
MERGE
(Augmented and Virtual Reality)
San Antonio, TX (2017-2019)
Being the sole graphic designer for the entire company, my daily work consisted of anything from designing sales sheets, event booth artwork, promotional web ads, marketing emails, t-shirts, brochures, product packaging, retail display design, and other print/digital assets that anyone from the company may have needed. Having worked with every branch of the company, I also had the opportunity to design artwork for augmented reality apps that the company created in-house. This spanned from designing in-app advertisements, UI design, splash screen logos, and general layout. I also coordinated/sourced mass production of store displays from factories in China to be sent to retailers in European markets as well as domestic retail chains.
Amkor Technology, Inc.
Phoenix, AZ (2019-2023)
Working as a graphics specialist supporting a global company, I was responsible for designing printed and digital marketing assets that appealed to a B2B environment including animated web ads, print ads, brochure layout design, posters, pull-up banners, and other assets needed for digital and in-person events. Assisted in designing internal design templates for Microsoft programs such as PowerPoint presentations, Word newsletters, and printable certificates.
RED Inc. Communications
Idaho Falls, ID (2023-Present)
Working through a subcontractor to supply design work for a Department of Energy nuclear energy laboratory (Idaho National Laboratory), I created identity/branding looks for DOE subgroups, designed custom logos, graphics for printed and digital materials showcasing a range of design from technical data to fun, employee-focused themed materials. Working with the lab’s branding team, I was allowed to stay within the pre-established branding as well as provide a new take with unique projects that the DOE use internally or externally. I work one-on-one with customers from the lab to collaborate and get to an end result that looks cohesive with the brand but achieves a purpose sought after from the customer. RED Inc. also caters to local customers in the area of which I had designed annual reports for, swag items, and additional print and digital media.
